Justice For All<\/span><\/a>\u2019s <\/span>Save Uyghur Campaign<\/span><\/a> supports the recent initiative by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the <\/span>Forced Labor Enforcement Task Force<\/span><\/a> (FLETF), <\/span>announcing<\/span><\/a> the addition of 29 companies from the People\u2019s Republic of China (PRC) to the <\/span>Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act<\/span><\/a> (UFLPA) Entity List. This expansion increases the total number of entities penalized for their involvement in forced labor practices to 107. These pivotal actions underscore a resolute stance against exploitation and uphold commitments to human rights within global supply chains.<\/span><\/p>\n

The FLETF\u2019s move, administered by DHS, aims to dismantle systemic forced labor tied to the ongoing genocide and violations against Uyghurs and other Turkic populations in Chinese-occupied East Turkistan. The campaign acknowledges these steps as vital to exerting pressure on entities benefitting from such exploitative practices.<\/span><\/p>\n

Imam Abdul Malik Mujahid, President of Justice For All, commended the effort, stating: \u201c<\/span>We applaud the swift action taken by FLETF. This sends a strong message to the world: forced labor and systemic oppression have no place in our modern economy. Let this serve as a reminder to all nations and corporations that ethical responsibility is paramount<\/span>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Arslan Hidayat, Team Lead for Save Uyghur, emphasized: \u201cWe welcome the efforts of the DHS and FLETF. However, more comprehensive and stringent measures globally are necessary. We call upon the U.S. government to intensify its actions and urge other nations to mirror this initiative by enacting legislation similar to the UFLPA to ensure collective global accountability.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

As the world bears witness to the appalling human cost of forced labor and the ongoing genocide of the Uyghur people, the time for action is now. These steps by the DHS mark significant progress, but they are merely the beginning. The weight of the Uyghur plight compels not one, but every nation of conscience to rise; to break the chains of forced labor and oppression, and forge a future defined not by tyranny, but by the unyielding principle that all people, across every border, deserve to live with dignity and autonomy.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
