Justice For All<\/span><\/a>\u2019s <\/span>Save Uyghur<\/span><\/a> Campaign strongly condemns U.S. President Donald J. Trump\u2019s recent <\/span>meeting<\/span><\/a> with Chinese General Secretary Xi Jinping, warning that it undermines America\u2019s official genocide recognition and risks violating the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA).<\/span><\/p>\n

The meeting, reportedly centered on renewed U.S.\u2013China cooperation over rare earth and critical minerals, represents a profound moral and policy failure. It signals a dangerous retreat from accountability toward normalization with a regime accused by the U.S. State Department of committing <\/span>genocide<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>crimes against humanity<\/span><\/a> against Uyghurs and other Turkic peoples in occupied East Turkistan.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAmerica cannot champion human rights and shake hands with those accused of genocide in the same breath,\u201d said Imam Abdul Malik Mujahid, President of Justice For All. \u201cIf we compromise our values for minerals, we lose both our moral standing and our credibility as a nation.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Under the <\/span>UFLPA<\/span><\/a>, any goods <\/span>mined<\/span><\/a>, produced, or manufactured in whole or in part in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, or by entities linked to forced labor, are presumed to be tainted and banned from U.S. import under Section 307 of the Tariff Act of 1930.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cEntering a minerals deal with the Chinese government effectively means doing business with forced labor,\u201d Imam Mujahid added. \u201cThe UFLPA was enacted precisely to prevent this kind of complicity. Allowing such trade would betray both American law and the Uyghur people.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
