WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 19, 2026)<\/span><\/p>\n

Justice For All\u2019s <\/span>Save Uyghur<\/span><\/a> Campaign welcomes the U.S. <\/span>Senate Foreign Relations<\/span><\/a> Committee\u2019s advancement of the Uyghur Policy Act of 2025 (<\/span>S.1542<\/span><\/a>), an important bipartisan effort to strengthen U.S. policy in support of Uyghur human rights, religious freedom and protection from transnational repression. For years, Uyghurs have faced mass detention, forced labor, family separation, religious persecution and transnational repression.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The legislation recognizes the ongoing persecution of Uyghurs and other Turkic Muslim peoples by the Chinese government and establishes a comprehensive framework to elevate Uyghur human rights as a priority of U.S. foreign policy.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Senate Foreign Relations Committee\u2019s advancement of the Uyghur Policy Act sends a clear message that the suffering of the Uyghur people will not be ignored,\u201d said Arslan Hidayat, Team Lead of Justice For All\u2019s Save Uyghur Campaign. \u201cThis legislation demonstrates that Congress remains committed to holding the Chinese government accountable for its ongoing abuses.
