(Washington, DC, MD, 12\/17\/20) \u2013\u00a0Justice For All\u2019s Save Uighur Campaign finds that the Chinese government\u2019s extensive human rights violations against the Uighur and other Turkic population in East Turkestan (Xinjiang) meets the United Nations\u2019 definition of genocide. Justice For All is a Muslim human rights organization which focuses on anti-genocide and global Islamophobia. A letter to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), led by Student coalition Free Uyghur Now and co written by Justice For All\u2019s Save Uighur Campaign was signed by 140 organizations including 75 Muslim student groups and 26 Uyghur organizations.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe OIC is failing to live up to its responsibilities as stated in the UN Charter,\u201d stated Adem Carroll, UN Programs Director for Justice For All. \u201cAt a time when Muslims around the world are rightly outraged by the oppression of Uyghur and other Turkic People it is unacceptable that the OIC and its member states are silent.\u00a0 We call on the leadership of the Ummah to find their voice, stand against oppression and advocate for justice.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe that the founding principles of OIC are principles that defend human rights and the rights of Muslim minorities, and we are not willing to give up on a multi-national platform that is meant to represent, protect and unite all Muslims. The realities we face remain difficult but the collective spirit and action of our Muslim Ummah alongside renewed efforts by the OIC will bring a swift end to these injustices,\u201d stated Free Ughur Now co-lead Tasnim Benalla.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy people are going through a genocide \u2013 a physical genoocide. As we speak, millions of my people are suffering in the prisons and concentration camps under China\u2019s attempt to eradicate Uyghurs from East Turkestan,\u201d stated Serwi Huseyin, Team Lead for Save Uighur Campaign.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy have Muslim leaders from Saudi Arabia to Pakistan turned a blind eye to the Uyghur? We, Uyghur will hold you accountable in Allah\u2019s Court on the Day of Judgement,\u201d Huseyin, a well known Uyghur poetess, added.\u00a0<\/b>The Save Uighur Campaign is led by a mostly Uyghur shurah (advisory board).<\/p>\n

As cowriter of the the letter to OIC, Justice For All\u00a0 urges global Muslim leadership to pressure China to stop this genocide.<\/p>\n
